AI-Facilitated Leadership Training
The purpose of this project was to transform an instructor-led workplace communication leadership training into a self-paced online learning experience designed for warehouse, cleanroom, and operations environments. The new format creates accessible training that is available on-demand, incorporates visual storytelling, and supports adult learners who may not have strong effective communication fundamentals.
Audience:
Lead associates, supervisors and frontline managers, and learners with no prior communication training

The Problem:
Horizon BioTech, a fictitious client, observed that frontline operations teams often lacked foundational communication skills, leading to frequent miscommunication during daily tasks. These breakdowns resulted in incorrect shift handoffs, rework and labeling errors, safety concerns, and heightened stress during production cycles. Without consistent communication practices, clarity and accountability suffered, and important shipments were sometimes delayed. Compounding the issue, the original instructor-led training required a live facilitator, making scheduling difficult across shifts, locations, and new-hire groups, which limited access to timely and consistent communication training.

The Solution:
To address these challenges, a self-paced, video-driven eLearning module was developed using Synthesia and PowerPoint. The course incorporated animated icons and keywords to visually reinforce verbal narration and introduced the eight fundamentals of workplace communication in clear, practical terms. Content was tailored using operational scenarios and real-world examples that learners could immediately recognize and apply. The self-paced format enabled learners to pause, reflect, and revisit concepts without the need for a live facilitator, while reduced on-screen text improved visibility and pacing. By delivering a consistent learning experience across shifts and roles, the module removed dependence on instructor availability and significantly improved repeatability, clarity, and access for frontline operations teams.
